Andrea Denniston is a 2010 graduate of West Virginia University with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Ceramics. During her time at WVU she traveled to Jingdezhen, China for one semester to study traditional Chinese porcelain; she was later selected by NCECA (National Council on Education in the Ceramic Arts) to receive the Regina Brown Undergraduate Fellowship. The fellowship made it possible for her to return to China for another two months to study qinghua (blue and white underglaze decoration.). The art department awarded Andrea a full tuition scholarship for her last year of study at WVU.
Recently, Andrea was working in Floyd, VA as a studio assistant to potter Silvie Granatelli. She continued her work in porcelain, exploring new forms and surface decoration on a daily basis.
In the Fall of 2013, Andrea begin working towards a Masters of Fine Arts Degree in Ceramics at Syracuse University – America’s snowiest university…
