Born and raised in small town Madison, VA Robert Turner grew up working and playing on the family farm. Summers were spent working for his father’s construction business which he took over as an adult. He transitioned the business from a focus in home building to specializing in metal roofing. Spending years working with metal has given Robert the eye and feel for the material. Wanting to expand on his knowledge, he decided to try his hand in jewelry fabrication. This lead him to taking classes at the Penland School of Craft in Western NC, the Visual Arts Center in Richmond, VA, and taking some private lesson. Future plans are to continue to learn new technique in order to push the boundaries of his creativity. Robert is an avid gardener and hasn’t met a pepper yet that is too spicy for him.
